DO NOT BAIL OUT THE SOCIALIST STATES

Washington State, during the socialist governor Christine Gregoire’s first four years, increased spending on social programs beyond projected revenues, counting on the ballot box support of the “I am here therefore I am owed” generation, minorities and immigrants. Now, the years are lean and the governor will prostitute herself to make sure she does not have to unravel the cradle-to-grave programs she and her clones have instituted. She has been at Obama’s side asking for money to pay for the programs, money she knows that she knows she cannot politically afford to demand from the taxpayers. Depending on the source of the calculations this state has a $5billion dollar deficit over the next three years.

Now that nearly everyone has health care for free, our marvelous department of ecology is making sure that cities develop sewage treatment that far exceeds EPA requirements, and only union members may hold government jobs, this state, like most, has enjoyed an economic downturn and the socialists understand that new taxes, in any form will be tough to sell. Yet, the bloated programs cannot continue without “additional sources of revenue.” So, while the governor began this legislative session saying that new taxes are not the answer, she meant that new taxes on the people who continue to vote for her are not the answer.

Her hope is, via Obama, to have citizens across the country pay for her foolishness, just not Washington citizens. Thus she escapes punishment from the voters. Like the governors of California, Michigan and New Jersey, she has been on her knees (not in the Clintonesque sense) pleading with Obama behind the scenes to include the irresponsible states in the bail outs. What the hell. We bail out banks, why not bail out states with bloated employment and programs? What does this mean? It means that the citizens of states who elect government that keeps spending under control will be forced to pay for the excesses of the socialist states.

No thanks!!! to any bail out. Oh, I have no doubt Obama will try to move money from the prudent to the irresponsible and this state’s two joke senators will support his efforts. Taxpayers of the responsible states ought to be incensed. And herein lies the inequity:

Washington continues to elect the “vote-for-me-I’ll-give-you-the-world” folks who feed the “me” generation with promises of cradle-to-grave satisfaction of all their desires. If the citizens in our neighboring state of Idaho are forced to pay for our state’ excesses then the sad message to the citizens of Idaho and other responsible states is to be less responsible. I want the same voters who elected these myopic and narcissistic folks to have to pay the bill for their follies. Many of the beneficiaries are not paying for these gifts which means the income producers are. I hope business and high earners choose to move to another state to do business.

What a scam.

I don’t trust that the Federal Senate Republicans have the courage to block aid to the states, a deliberately under-stated objective of the Obama administration but should a miracle occur I will enjoy the gnashing of teeth in Olympia, Washington. Republicans have still yet to publicly proclaim that personal responsibility and accountability are defensible and it is the nanny state that is oppressive and just plain dangerous to those of us who don’t believe government is why we enjoy…anything.

As all collapses, perhaps they will!
